Travelers from all over the world can come to Australia to holiday and extend it, funding themselves working in Australia. To this end, you can use the Subclass 462 (Australia Work and Holiday) Visa.
There are 3 types of this visa to choose from:
- First Work and Holiday Visa
- Second Work and Holiday Visa
- Third work and Holiday Visa
FIRST WORK AND HOLIDAY VISA
Are you a visitor in Australia aged 18 to 30 years? Then you can use this visa to stay for an extended period in Australia as well as work in the country to fund your trip subject to the following criteria.
- You need to have a valid passport from a country considered eligible
- You will be allowed to work while you are in Australia
- You will be allowed to apply for a second Work and Holiday visa upon meeting certain criteria for eligibility
You can stay for 12 months in Australia on this visa. It costs you AUD485 to get this visa. The processing time is between 3 and 5 months.
SECOND WORK AND HOLIDAY VISA
This is a visa that follows the original Work and Holiday visa. One who has held a Work and Holiday visa is eligible to apply for this visa subject to the following criteria:
- You need to have a valid passport from a country considered eligible
- You are allowed to do any sort of work while you are in Australia
- You need to have completed 3 months at work that suits the subclass 462 visa
- You must be in Australia, own a substantive visa, or have your most recent substantive visa reached expiry in less than 28 days
- You are allowed to apply for a third Work and Holiday visa upon meeting certain criteria for eligibility
You can stay for 12 months in Australia on this visa. It costs you AUD485 to get this visa. The processing time is between 3 and 5 months.
THIRD WORK AND HOLIDAY VISA
Only those who have held a second Work and Holiday Visa is eligible for this visa, upon meeting certain criteria like:
- You need to have a valid passport from a country considered eligible
- You are allowed to do any sort of work while you are in Australia
- You need to have completed 6 months at work specified under the subclass 462 visa
- You must be in Australia, own a substantive visa, or have your most recent substantive visa reached expiry in less than 28 days
You can stay for 12 months in Australia on this visa. It costs you AUD485 to get this visa. The processing time isn’t available.
