The provisional Subclass 491 visa Australia issues, is meant for skilled individuals who are nominated by the government of an Australian state or territory. The visa holders can work and live in regional Australia.
VISA FOR THE MAIN APPLICANT
- It has a duration of 5 years.
- The visa holder can live, study, and work in a designated area in regional Australia.
- The visa holder can travel in and out of Australia as frequently as required till the visa is valid.
- The holder can apply for Australia PR visa after the end of 3 years from the time of granting the visa.
- This visa cannot be extended after 5 years.
- It costs AUD 4,115.
- You can add family members in the visa application by:
- Including them while submitting the application
- Adding a dependent child after the submission of the application, but before a decision is made on it.
- Family members have to meet character and health criteria.
- The visa processing time depends on:
- whether you have filed a complete application and attached all supporting documents required
- how quick your response is to any requests for furnishing additional information
- how long it takes to check the supporting information given
- how long it takes to get additional information from external agencies (especially related to character, national security, and health requirements)
ELIGIBILITY
- Australia’s immigration department must issue an invitation to you to:
- Submit an EOI (Expression of Interest) in SkillSelect Australia
- Give indication if an eligible relative will sponsor you for this visa or if you want the government agency of an Australian state or territory to give you a nomination.
- You must be of the eligible age
- You must be under 45 years to be invited to apply for the visa.
- You can apply for the visa in case you turn 45 after you are invited to apply.
- Get your skills assessed and add proof of it with the application.
- Get a minimum of 65 points as an EOI score to be eligible to apply for the visa.
- Get the required level of proficiency in the English language.
- Meet the criteria related to health and character.
- Have your debts to the Government of Australia paid.
- Sign the statement of Australian values.
VISA FOR A SUBSEQUENT ENTRANT
- This visa is meant for a family member of an individual who already holds a Subclass 491 visa Australia issued.
- This visa is valid until the validity of the main applicant’s Subclass 491 visa Australia issued ends.
- The cost of the visa is AUD 4,115.
ELIGIBILITY
- There’s no age limit.
- Have the required level of proficiency in the English language.
