Austria Dependent Visa
Immigrants in Austria who want to bring their dependents to the country must apply for the Austria family visa. The following dependents can come to Austria on this visa:
- Spouse or civil partner
- Children below the age of 18.
- Partners who are in long-term relationships
- Other relatives (under specific circumstances)
The following permit holders in Austria are allowed to bring their dependents to the country.
- Holders of a Red-White-Red Card (work visa holders) or EU Blue Card.
- Holders of a Red-White-Red Card plus.
- Holders of long-term residency title in Austria.
- Holders of a settlement permit (for self-employment individuals).
- Holders of a settlement permit (for researchers).
- Holders of a specific settlement permit (for special cases of dependent gainful occupation).
- Holders of a residence card or permanent residence card.
- Holders of an “Article 50 EUV” residence permit.
Documents required
- Birth certificate
- Character certificate
- Marriage certificate
- A family document showing your familial link with your sponsor is also required.
- Proof of accommodation is required. You must show proof that you have a place to stay in Austria. This might be a lease agreement with a landlord or the address of your sponsor’s home.
- Certificate proving A1 level of skills in German language
Application process
- Fill out the application form. Make sure you finish this first because it is one of the most significant documents you will need for your visa application.
- Gather all of your documents. Ensure that all of your documents are translated (if necessary), legalized, and current.
- Make an appointment to hand in your application at the local embassy or consulate.
- Prepare for an interview. You’ll almost certainly be invited to sit down for an interview and answer questions regarding your application’s nature.
- Wait for a response. You will receive an answer as soon as your application is processed, and then you can depart for Austria.
