Educational Qualification
- The minimum eligibility criteria to graduate is you have to score at least 50% from a UGC or AICTE recognized university.
Year Back
- The graduation degree has to be completed within the stipulated time with no gap year.
- Example: B.Com is a 3-year degree. The client should have completed it within 3 years and not more.
- Example: Engineering is a 4-year degree. The client should have completed within 4 years and not more.

Student visa and dependents
If you are a foreign national on a Canada study visa you can bring your spouse and dependent children along to Canada. Your spouse can apply for an open work permit. You both can work for a Canadian employer for the valid duration of your study permit. In case your spouse wants to study in Canada, he/she will have to apply for a separate study permit.
You can bring your dependent children to Canada. The children can stay with you in Canada for the duration of your study. Minor children can pursue their school education in the country provided you or your spouse (parents) can either work or study in Canada.
A dependent child is one below 22 years of age. Children above 22 years who aren’t financially independent due to a physical or mental condition are also treated as a dependent.
Post-study work permits in Canada
To keep the international students back in Canada, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) operate a Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) program. Under this program, international graduates may obtain an open work permit for up to 3 years.
- PGWP allows you to work for any Canadian employer in any industry without the need for a job offer while applying.
- If you pursue a course in Canada of less than 2 years’ duration, you are eligible for a PGWP of a duration that equals the duration of the course.
- But if you pursue a 2-year course in Canada (like a Master’s or Diploma) you will be eligible for a PGWP of 3-year duration.
