The most striking change in UK immigration post-Brexit was the introduction of a points-based system. So now, your eligibility to apply for UK immigration will be based on some fixed criteria. The facility to trade certain requirements in the old system is no more available in UK immigration.
Here are some specific changes we would like to mention to you:
- The Tier 2 (General) visa category got replaced by a new ‘Skilled Worker’ category.
- The following benefits have been accrued from the introduction of the new “Skilled Worker” category, both to the foreign worker and the UK employer:
- It’s easier to get a new Skilled Worker visa.
- The residence labor market test has been scrapped.
- Both the minimum salary and minimum skill levels have been lowered.
Designated low-skilled jobs won’t have a visa category anymore. All focus of visa issuance will be on skilled and highly qualified foreigners.
