Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Subclass 491 Visa: This visa is meant for skilled foreign workers who are willing to live and work in regional Australia. The applicants must be nominated by a state/territory in Australia or a government agency, or sponsored by an eligible relative of yours who’s a PR or citizen in Australia. It’s necessary that the occupation they are in is on the Skilled Occupation List. They will have to go through a skills assessment and must be invited to apply for this visa.
The visa is valid for 5 years after which you must apply for Subclass 191 visa for Australia PR. For any other Australia PR visa, you only need to hold a Subclass 491 visa for 3 years. Applicants can move to Australia with their eligible family members.
