The first thing that you need to make sure is that there is a need for a National Insurance Number or not. You can apply for the National Insurance Number only if you are living in the country or have the right to work in the country. In order to apply for the National Insurance card, you can send the application online after proving your identity.
The requirements for the application include:
- A passport from any country
- A biometric residence permit
- An identity card from the following countries
- A country in the EU
- Norway
- Liechtenstein
- Switzerland
If you do not have all these requirements, you can apply for the NI but in this case, you have to attend an appointment for the proof of your identity.
