If applicants are coming from a non-EEA country, they need to have immigration permission or valid employment permits. There are different kinds of permits that applicants can get to migrate to Ireland and work. These permits are as follows:
- Employment permit
Applicants who are applying for the first time for an employment permit have to apply from outside Ireland. The application is processed by the Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment. The candidates need to get the work permit before they apply for the visa.
- Atypical Working Scheme
The employment permission under this scheme is issued by the Department of Justice.
- Working Holiday Authorisation Programme
This is a programme in which young people are allowed for the funding of an extended holiday through temporary work. This programme is available only to the people of a few countries. Because of COVID-19, this programme is under suspension.
- Start-Up Entrepreneur Programme
This is a programme in which individuals are allowed to start a business in Ireland. These people can work in the business for full time. These individuals are not allowed for employment in any other company. These individuals are also not allowed to become a financial burden on Irish government.
- Immigrant Investor Programme
This is a programme in which individuals belonging to non-EEA countries are allowed for approved investment in Ireland. The minimum amount of investment is €1 million. The investment can be €0.5 million if the resources of the applicants are not financed through a loan.
