Requirements for eligibility
Master’s Graduate Stream
To be eligible, the immigration candidate must:
- be graduated from a Master’s degree program of at least 1-year full-time duration, from one of Ontario’s eligible institutions
- have obtained at least level 7 in CLB/NCLC language test in English/French
- have resided in Ontario legally for a minimum of 1 year in the last 2 years
- have sufficient funds for settlement in Ontario
- have the intention to live and work in Ontario
- have legal status in Ontario or abroad
- Applications from no other place in Canada will be accepted
- apply within 2 years of completing the requirements to complete the master’s degree
Ph.D. Graduate Stream
To be eligible, the immigration candidate must:
- have graduated from a Ph.D. degree program in one of Ontario’s eligible institutions and have completed a minimum of 2 years of full-time
- have legally resided in Ontario for a minimum of 1 year in the last 2 years
- have sufficient funds for settling in Ontario
- have the intention to live and work in Ontario
- apply within 2 years of completing the requirements to complete the Ph.D. degree
Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream
To be eligible, the immigration candidate must:
- have a permanent and full-time job offer under NOC 0, A, or B that meets Ontario’s median wage levels and is a position essential to the business
- get the proposed wage which is equal to or more than the current wage being paid if the candidate is already working in the position
- have relevant work experience of 2 cumulative years in the 5 years prior to the application date
- have a mandatory licensing in Ontario that’s relevant if the position demands that
- be living abroad, or be studying, working, or visiting Canada on a valid permit
- have the intention to settle in Ontario
