Ontario, through its French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, issued 85 NOIs (Notifications of Interest) in its September 20 draw. It followed this up with 46 more NOIs being issued to French-speaking candidates in the OINP draw held on September 27.
In 2018, Ontario issued a total of 1,196 invitations through its French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream. It has been conducting draws almost on a weekly basis through this stream since January 2018.
French-speaking candidates who also have strong English language proficiency and wish to settle permanently in Ontario may apply for this program. Candidates will need to have at least a score of CLB 6 in English.
The eligibility criteria for the Ontario French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream are:
- Should have a valid profile in the Express Entry pool
- Should qualify either under the Canadian Experience Class or the Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Should have at least one-year work experience in the recent 5 years under the FSWP criteria or one year in the recent 5 years under the CEC criteria
- Should have an education equivalent to a Canadian bachelors
- Should have a minimum score of CLB 7 in French and CLB 6 in English
- Should have sufficient funds to support self and the family
- Should have an intention of permanently settling in the province of Ontario
- If currently living in Canada, the candidate should have a valid Visa for Canada
