Nova Scotia to give universities financial assistance

Nova Scotia has announced its commitment to dish out $25 million to the universities in the province to help them cope with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 10 universities that faced financial challenges out of the blue when the pandemic struck and who will receive funding are the following:

Atlantic School of Theology $218,800
Acadia University $2,187,700
Dalhousie University $9,479,700
Cape Breton University $2,187,700
NSCAD University $1,215,400
Mount Saint Vincent University $1,458,400
Saint Mary’s University $2,916,900
St. FX University $3,646,100
Université Sainte-Anne $364,600
University of King’s College $1,324,700

These institutions have also met with additional expenses like that which is spent on IT, developing curriculum, and employing additional support staff and systems for conducting classes. There are also expenses related to meeting public health directives.

In the coming weeks, these funds will reach the universities. This is a big step in stepping up the migration of international students to study in Canada from the universities in Nova Scotia.

Those who arrive in Canada on a Canada study visa must be assured that their safety in Nova Scotia ensured and none of the study programs will lose the quality it’s famed for.
