Nova Scotia has invited skilled workers through the Labor Market Priorities stream of Canada immigration on April 27, 2020.
The expected qualifications for candidates invited for applying for permanent residency are:
- CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) score of at least 8 in French and 6 in English
- Having French as their first official language
- A valid Express Entry number
- A bachelor's degree or a 3-year program completed at a college, university, technical school or trade school
- Having met the minimum criteria to be taken into the pool
It’s not yet disclosed how many candidates were sent Letters of Interest (LOI) and the minimum CRS (Comprehensive Ranking Score) required of them was.
It’s the CRS score that determines the eligibility of a candidate in an Express Entry draw to be invited to an offer of Permanent Residency. Express Entry candidates with provincial nomination get 600 points added to their basic score. This fetches them the effective guarantee of an invitation to apply for Permanent Residence in Canada.
Candidates who received a Letter of Interest (LOI) in this draw have 60 days to submit their filled applications to NSNP. As per Immigration Canada rules, they also need to submit copies of their proof of education and language test results.
The following are the professionals invited in the draw:
- Social workers and nurses
- Financial auditors
- Accountants
- Early childhood education workers
