Australia priorities certain skill visa applications
On December 06, 2022, Australia declares no requirement for a Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL) for certain skilled visa applicants who belong to the occupations of Healthcare and Teaching.
This rule is applicable only to the applicants who have applied for a skilled visa for Teaching and healthcare occupations from outside Australia.
In place of PMSOL, a new instruction Ministerial Direction 100 would help in processing the applications, which were ordered by the Minister of Immigration.
High priority is given to the skilled applicants who have been nominated for teaching or healthcare occupations and applied from outside Australia during the time of applying.

The criteria that the nominated occupations must satisfy are listed below:
- Nominations and the applications for the visa that were submitted by/for authorized sponsors in any of the occupations.
- Occupational applications need to be accomplished in any designated regional area.
- The visas that are provisional and permanent are counted under the migration program (except 188 business visas)
- All the other applications
Australian immigration has retained the prioritized applicants who hold a Hong Kong special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China passport or a British national overseas passport.
