  • The IRCC conducted the 15th Express Entry Draw 2023 on June 27, 2023.
  • The EE Draw was an all-program Draw and invited 4300 candidates.

The new Category-based Selection

  • The new Category-based selection for Express Entry was introduced on May 31, 2023, by the IRCC.
  • Draws will be held for EE candidates under six categories for the Category-based selection.
  • The IRCC announced 82 occupations that will be eligible for the selection.
  • The six categories are as follows –
    • Healthcare
    • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
    • Trades (Plumbers, carpenters, contractors)
    • Transport
    • Agriculture & Agri-food
    • French speaking abilities
  • The new Draws will issue ITAs to candidates with either French proficiency or prior work experience in any listed occupations.
  • Candidates are required to have work experience in any of the occupations and must be in the EE pool to qualify for the ITA.
  • Candidates with high CRS scores will also have more chances of receiving an ITA.
