List of changes in the EU Blue Card
The government of Germany has introduced several changes to the EU Blue Card to fill up the labor shortage in the country. The changes made to the EU Blue card are listed below -
Reduction in the salary threshold
- The salary threshold will be lowered to allow more skilled migrants to seek employment in Germany with an EU Blue card despite getting lower salary packages.
- €56,400 is the minimum salary for a Blue Card of Germany, which is set to be lowered in the coming days.
No requirements for the German Language
- Candidates applying for a Blue card must not provide proof of German language proficiency.
- B1 Level in German Language was the previous requirement for the Blue card, which has now been removed.
Professional Experience
- Candidates with a professional degree in a specific field from a recognized university can now apply for the Blue card.
- A minimum salary threshold for amateurs with an academic degree will be introduced to make it more flexible for young skilled individuals to seek employment.
Easy facilitation of family members to the country
Candidates can quickly bring their dependents and family to the country with a German Blue card.
Easy work-place moderations
Candidates with an EU Blue card who do not belong to the EU countries can switch employers from within the country.
IT professionals with no degrees to avail of Blue Card
Highly skilled IT professionals with prior work experience who do not possess a professional degree have been made eligible to apply for the EU Blue card.
