- Work permits were allotted under the International Mobility Program and the Temporary Foreign Worker program.
- Most work permits were issued under the IMP, totaling 420,070.
- 136,350 permits were issued under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.

International Mobility Program (IMP)
- IMP, also known as the International Mobility program, is a temporary work permit issued to foreign workers to work for Canadian employers.
- You do not require an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) for the IMP.
- The IRCC modified the requirements for physicians willing to apply for immigration.
- Spouses of selective skilled workers can now apply for open work permits in Canada to bridge the labor shortage in the country.

- TFWP, also known as the Temporary Foreign Worker program, is a work permit issued to temporary foreign workers to fill the labor shortage.
- You require an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) from your Canadian employer.
- The eligibility requirement for Canada PR has been reduced for caregivers and social assistance workers.
