An Express Entry draw that was conducted on June 25, 2020, has issued invitations for 3,508 immigration candidates and their families to apply for permanent residence.
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates who got Invitations to Apply (ITA) had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score as low as 431.
This score was the second-lowest ever after the draw that was held on May 31, 2017. That draw had a CRS score of 413.
392 ITAs were issued to PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) candidates on June 24, 2020. The June 25 draw followed this and brought the total ITAs issued in these 2 days to 3,900.
The Express Entry system manages the profiles of candidates belonging to 3 main economic-class immigration programs namely:
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Federal Skilled Trades Class (FST)
- Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSW)
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has been aiming at PNP and CEC candidates in the draws that were held in the last 3 months. These candidates bring the advantage of mostly being in Canada because of which they are least possibly affected by COVID-19 restrictions.
Ever since the COVID-19 preventive measures have been imposed by Canada, the CRS score requirements have gone down considerably.
The June 25 draw applied the tie-breaking rule that was implemented on April 3, 2020, at 12:56:32 UTC. So, all candidates with a CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score of 431 and have submitted their profiles prior to this date and time got an ITA in this invitation round.
It is recommended that prospective candidates submit their profiles in the Express Entry pool so that they have a better chance at getting selected, especially as the CRS score requirements are falling with every draw.
