British Columbia held a Tech Pilot draw on January 12, 2021, in which 80 new immigration candidates were invited. This was the second PNP draw of the year.
BC PNP accepted candidates with job offers from companies in the technology sector in BC. Tech Pilots are pathways for tech-skilled international candidates to come to work in Canada in BC, a major base for tech companies in the country.
Candidates selected in this Canada immigration draw came from the streams of Express Entry BC and Skilled Immigration. The sub-categories involved were international Graduate and Skilled Worker. The invited candidates had a minimum provincial score of 80 points.
With a nomination from BC, the Express Entry candidates get 600 extra CRS points that fetch them priority in getting ITAs in an upcoming federal Express Entry draw.
The points stipulated comes from BC PNP’s point-based system, the SIRS. The points are granted based on factors such as education level, work experience, and employment offer from BC.
Those who got invitations have 30 calendar days from the invitation date to file a complete application. This can be done via the online registration system of BC PNP. The ITA received doesn’t guarantee a nomination for the candidates.
The job offer stipulated for candidates by BC PNP must be for a minimum duration of 1 year and must have a minimum of 120 days remaining on the offer when the application is filed.
