Updates on British Columbia labor market
There has been steady month-over-month growth in the province as per the Labor Force Survey. There was an addition of 5,100 jobs (0.2%) as of May 2022.
Since April 2022, there have been 26,500 individuals who entered full-time employment. Around 27,000 people (17.4%) came out of unemployment in British Columbia. This led to the unemployment rate coming down by 0.9% to reach 4.5%. This was also the lowest in 3 years.

Improvement was seen in all categories including a decrease of 67,400 (34.4%) in unemployment. However, there was a loss of 21,300 (3.6%) part-time jobs from June 2022. But in May 2022, there were 21,000 more part-time jobs than in the same month in 2021.
