Bringing the total number of new immigration candidates invited to the province to 448, British Canada invited 195 new candidates in its latest immigration draw on January 19, 2021. The invitations were issued to candidates from EEBC and SI streams.
The invites went to the following categories of candidates:
- International Graduate
- Skilled Worker
- Entry Level & Semi-Skilled
The minimum scores for this immigration draw fell between the range of 80 and 106.
The EEBC stream helps candidates with a valid profile in the Express Entry system to succeed in Canada immigration. Express Entry is the main pathway that skilled workers from around the world take to get a Canada PR visa.
The SI stream caters to those semi-skilled and skilled workers who work in occupations that are in high demand in BC.
All categories under British Columbia PNP are managed by SIRS. For candidates to apply via SIRS, they must first register an account where after they get ranked based on factors like work experience, education, and proficiency in the English language.
The highest-scoring candidates get invited when BC holds its PNP immigration draw.
The minimum scores required for different categories involved in this latest draw were as follows:
Express Entry BC
- International Graduate - 103
- Skilled Worker – 106
Skills Immigration
- International Graduate – 96
- Skilled Worker – 96
- Entry-level and Semi-skilled – 80
Some occupations were excluded from the purview of this draw due to the impact of COVID-19 on the activities of certain businesses and economic sectors in BC.
Those who get nominated in this draw will receive 600 extra CRS points which will ensure them an ITA in an upcoming Express Entry draw. Express Entry draws are conducted bi-weekly as it has been happening even when COVID-19 was impacting the nation’s immigration sector.
