The application process was impacted due to the pandemic but it is back on track due to adding 1250 employees by IRCC or Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
It has led to Canada welcoming 275,000 immigrants through Canada PR or permanent residency.

Details of Immigration to Canada
In 2021, IRCC welcomed 405,0000 permanent residents to Canada. It had a target of 431,000 for 2022 based on the Immigration Levels Plan. Between January 1 to July 31, 2022, a new 275,000 PR has been issued.

In the same span, 349,000 work permits have been issued, among which 220,000 were OWP or open work permits. An OWP facilitates permit holders to work in any place in Canada in multiple occupations.
Canada also witnessed an increase in the number of study permits issued. So far, 360,000 study permits were granted in 2022. More and more students are opting to study in Canada.
