It’s the best time to make your move and start pushing your profile through Canada’s Express Entry system for immigration. Canada has recently shown the world that it’s very serious about its Canada immigration levels goals.
In the Express Entry immigration draw on February 13, 2021, 27,332 principal immigration applicants were invited to apply for a Canada PR. This was the highest number of candidates invited in an Express Entry draw ever. And the icing on the cake? An all-time low CRS score requirement of 75.
Now, anyone who is aware of the ambitions of Canada with regard to immigration must be knowing that the country has aimed at 401,000 new immigrants to be invited annually from 2021. This huge number of invites in the February 13 draw was aimed at kickstarting the efforts to reach that goal.
The draw chose CEC candidates to be invited as these candidates are already in Canada, have work experience in Canada, and would be least affected by the complications of COVID-19-related restrictions.
Draws were also held involving candidates via PNP who had received a nomination from a Canadian province.
Even with the unpredictable nature of the Express Entry, it’s obvious now that Canada is determined to inviting 108,500 new immigration candidates via programs managed by Express Entry. As there are travel restrictions for immigrants coming from overseas, Canada is currently focusing on effectively transitioning temporary residents like those who temporarily work in Canada to earn the status of Canadian permanent resident.
That means those already in Canada are at a huge advantage when it comes to getting permanent residence in the country. Just get your profiles ready in the Express Entry pool where IRCC can find you. Improve your CRS score by gaining more experience or improving your language test results and elevate your chances to get selected for immigration.
Others overseas must keep themselves updated about the immigration scene in Canada. Watch out for the next best opportunity to enter into a draw. Now that vaccination against COVID-19 is catching up remarkably in Canada, it won’t be long before doors will be opened to overseas immigration candidates.
Canada will be opening the welcoming foreigners to move to Canada once the COVID-19 risk is minimized or eliminated. To enter via FSWP, you will need to submit the results of your language test and an ECA. However, for each of these, it could take a few months to complete.
The standard time of 6 months to complete the Canadian immigration process still holds. That includes the 90 days’ time you get to submit a complete immigration application after receiving an ITA. If your application receives approval, you get a COPR which is valid till the validity of your passport or medical examination is intact. Those who got their COPR approved before March 18, 2020, will have to find an exemption from travel restriction for another reason. These could be arriving for an essential job or to reunite with the family.
Those from the US have an exemption to cross the Canadian border though.
It’s only a matter of time now that Canada reopens its borders and overseas candidates get their chance at Canada PR through economy-class programs like FSWP. Canada is also eagerly waiting for skilled candidates like you.
