If you are a tech professional and want to be deemed eligible for this program, you must have a profile in the Canada Express Entry system. You must also be eligible for the Alberta Express Entry system.
The new immigration program enables you to become Canada PR visa holders within as short a period as 6 months. You will need to have a job offer in a tech industry occupation that’s considered in-demand.
Another requirement to get a work permit is that you must obtain a letter of support issued by the Government of Alberta.
Alberta has over 3,000 technology companies as identified by the Alberta Enterprise Corporation. These companies are still in requirement of skilled workers with technical and marketing talent.
How does the Accelerated Tech Pathway work?
The steps to follow are:
- Create a profile in the Canada Express Entry pool.
- Fill out an AINP online form to send your Canada Express Entry profile information as well as your tech job in Alberta.
- After checking that you meet the minimum eligibility criteria for the Alberta Express Entry stream, AINP will invite you to apply for a provincial nomination.
- Check whether you meet the criteria of assessment and if all is fine, file an application for provincial nomination.
- If Alberta PNP offers a nomination to you, it can be accepted within 30 days using your Canada Express Entry profile. Additional 600 CRS points are also granted to you upon accepting the nomination.
- In a forthcoming Canada Express Entry draw, you can participate and get the opportunity to apply for a Canada PR visa.
